Brasília, 28 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - In a first vote, the Chamber of Deputies has approved an exemption for the check debit tax (CPMF) for investments on the stock market. The exemption bill still has to go through a second vote in the chamber before it goes to the senate.

The CPMF tax on all financial transactions will remain in effect until 2004. (AB)
