Brasilia, 28 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Planning, Budget and Management Martus Tavares is confident in the good results of the 43rd Annual Assembly of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) and the 17th Annual Assembly of the Interamerican Investment Corporation, which will be held on March 11 to 14 in Fortaleza, capital of Ceara. This is the 3rd time the event will be held in Brazil.

"The conference is a challenge, a very great responsibility. It's important for Brazil to host an event of this nature, which should bring together nearly 5,000 people, between investors and representatives of 46 nations. We will be able to broadcast the great achievements of the Cardoso government to the entire world and show investors that there are excellent business opportunities in our country," said the minister, who will represent Brazil at the event.

The opening session of the Assembly will be attended by President Fernando Henrique Cardoso; the Governor of Ceará, Tasso Jereissati; the president of the IDB, Enrique Iglesias; and by the presidents and ministers of member nations, as well as by representatives of the Brazilian and international financial communities.
