Index measures inflation of 0.06% in February

Rio de Janeiro, 28 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - February's inflation, measured by the General Market Price Index (IGP-M) was of 6/100s of a percent, indicating a reduction of 0.30% in relation to January. This index is a pondered average of 3 other indexes: the Wholesale Price Index (IPA), the Consumer Price Index (IPC) and the Civil Construction Cost Index (INCC).

The Wholesale Price Index (IPA) dropped 0.09% in February, with the greatest reduction in the price of farming products, which suffered deflation of 0.5%, compared to an increase of 1.76% in January. Industry products, meanwhile, registered deflation of 0.48%, compared to inflation of 0.07% in January.

The Consumer Price Index (IPC) rose 0.29%, compared to 0.82% the previous month, with a 2.05% decrease in the transport sector due to a reduction of fuel prices.

The INCC index, meanwhile, rose 0.31%. (MW)
