Brasília, 27 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Science and Technology, Ronaldo Sardenberg, reports that Brazil intends to encourage Argentina to become part of the space program which is presently being undertaken jointly with Ukraine to launch rockets from the Alcântara Rocket Center in Maranhão. Sardenberg explained that a Ukraine mission will visit Brazil on April 14 at which time the matter will be discussed.

Sardenberg pointed out that within the genome project, it is expected that trained researchers from both Brazil and Argentina will participate in work on molecular biology and bio-informatics in laboratories in both countries. "We want to set up a binational network in genome and proteomic research," said the minister. (AB)
