Oxford, November 14, 2002 (Agência Brasil – ABr) – President Fernando Henrique Cardoso declared yesterday that there is no danger of Brazil entering an Argentina-type crisis when the next administration takes office. He explained that Brazil's economy is much more organized. "We have more instruments to attack a crisis... The economic crisis in Brazil is not a classic crisis. Brazil is not in recession," he said, adding that if the new government keeps the decision-making system functioning "nothing serious can happen." (AB)
