San Domingo, November 15, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Today president Fernando Henrique Cardoso is in the Dominican Republic for the XII Iberian-American Summit. The summits have taken place since 1991, allowing the 21 member countries to exchange ideas on and discuss economic, political and social policies and cooperation.

The central topic of this year's summit is: "Farm Development, Environment and Sustainable Tourism." Other related issues, requested by the host nation, include governability and law, regional cooperation and migrations. (AB)
