Bávaro (Dominican Republic), November 18, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The heads of state and government at the XII Iberian-American Summit released a special joint declaration congratulating president Fernando Henrique Cardoso for the democratic transition in Brazil. In the document, all the leaders express "complete confidence in Brazilian economic stability," and say they will support the future Brazilian government.

"We thank president Cardoso for his fundamental participation in the development of the Iberian- American Summit. We recognize the results of his term of office in the economic area where he implemented solid fundamentals and laid the groundwork for healthy economic development which has benefitted all Brazilians," said the document.
