Brasília, November 19, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Yesterday the public opinion polling institute, Instituto Vox Populi, began a survey of consumer satisfaction for the national electricity regulating agency (Aneel). Vox Populi will interview 19,200 people in 397 municipals. The results will be released during the first quarter of next year.

The 2001 Aneel consumer satisfaction survey (IASC) was 63.2, on a scale of 0 to 100, based on standards used internationally. In 2000 it was 62.8.

For the sake of comparison, in the US, similar surveys found consumer satisfaction with electricity services at 69, in Europe it is 70, in Hong Kong it is 69.6. (AB)
