Rio, November 19, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - After three consecutive months of negative rates, the index of industrial employment grew 1.3% in comparison with August. This was the largest positive result for this type of comparison since the series began in December, 2000. In other comparisons, the indicators continued negative: -0.3% compared with September, 2001, -0.8% for the quarter, and a cumulative -1.3% for the year to date. The data were released today in the Monthly Employment and Salary Survey (Pimes) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). (DAS)
