Brasília, November 20, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Forum of Housing Secretaries and the Association of Low-Cost Housing Companies (Cohab), which have built 2.5 million low-cost, so-called alternative home units, for over 10 million needy people, has presented a report to the government-elect's transition team calling for decentralization. The document claims that the way to resolve the housing problem in Brazil is through a network of agents at the local level with strong participatory action by both the government and private sector.
