IMF mission chief says market response to new government will be favorable

Brasília, November 20, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The chief of the mission from the International Monetary Fund, Jorge Marquez Ruarte, says he expects international markets to respond favorably to the new Brazilian government. His comment was made after meeting with members of the transition team, headed by Antonio Palocci. Ruarte called the economic measures being proposed by the future government, "very prudent and appropriate." (AB)
