Brasília, November 20, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Brazilian and American students participated yesterday in the opening of the second US international Education Week by chatting on the internet in an event sponsored by the American Embassy in Brazil. Students from the Federal District, Goiás, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco and Pará chatted to American students from the District of Columbia, Virginia and Nebraska about society, culture, arts, sports and education.
"This is a way to strengthen mutual understanding between the two nations, as well as promote world peace," explained the US embassy Cultural Attaché, Michael Hahn. (AB)
