Brazil signs memorandum of cooperation with European Community

Brasília, 20/11/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Yesterday Brazil signed a memorandum of cooperation with European Community at a meeting in Brussels. The document sets up priorities for bilateral cooperation between now and the end of 2006. It has a budget of some 64 million euros.

The priorities mentioned in the memorandum are in public administration, economic cooperation, social development, research and technology, and environment. Three agreements for the execution of projects within the terms of the document have already been signed: in public administration modernization, fiscal reform assistance and training of police in the area of human rights.
