Brasília - The Ethics Council of the Chamber of Deputies notified deputy Roberto Jefferson (PTB-RJ), yesterday (23), about a new petition submitted by the Liberal Party (PL), requesting that another process be opened to revoke his parliamentary mandate.
The president of the Council, Ricardo Izar (PTB-SP), named deputy Mendes Thame (PSDB-SP) to be reporter of the new process against Jefferson. According to Izar, if the first suit against Jefferson is successful, the second will be shelved. The first suit was also brought by the PL.
Today (24), the reporter for the first suit, Jairo Carneiro (PFL-BA), will present his report, which should go to a vote tomorrow (25), if nobody asks for more time to study the matter. Izar informed that, if a delay is requested, the vote should be scheduled for next Tuesday (30).
