Brasília, March 11, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Early this afternoon President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sent a message to Spanish President José Maria Aznar to express "deep regret" for the terrorist attacks that caused many deaths this morning in the Spanish capital.

In the note, President Lula emphasized that Brazil joins the rest of the international community in repudiating, "forcefully and unconditionally," the terrorist acts, which violate the principles of respect for human rights. (DAS)
