Brasília, 3/9/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Members of the new Rural Female Worker Movement (Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas do Brasil) (MMC) joined representatives of the Landless Rural Worker Movement (MST) in front of the Venezuelan embassy in Brasilia for a demonstration in favor of the Hugo Chavez government. One of the leaders of the MMC, Loiva Rubenich, declared that they have learned that there are no borders separating their problems. "We support the Chavez government's efforts to make social changes," she said.
A spokewoman for the embassy addressed the demonstrators and thanked them for their support. She said that president Chavez had announced proof that "institutions in the US were funding the opposition to his administration with millions of dollars." (AB)
