Rio de Janeiro - Members of the British Industrial Confederation (BIC) and the consul general of the United Kingdom in Rio de Janeiro, Paul Yahmourian, are visiting the city and meeting with members of the local industrial federation (Firjan) and small business administration (Sebrae) for talks on business opportunities. The British are led by the president of the BIC, Digby Jones, and the head of its International Group, Gary Campkin.
"Our visit is part of BIC strategy which has been in place for a number of years. We seek to expand international business as a means of achieving better international relations. We hope to do good business along with stimulating development and improving infrastructure in developing nations," declared Jones.
Among the investment possibilities the BIC mission will be looking into are the lingerie industrial center in Nova Friburgo, and granite and marble quarries in the northwest region of the state. (AB)
