Brasília, 1/13/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The National Indian Foundation (Funai) has released a note repudiating the recent assassinations of two Indians in the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Roraima. The note, signed by the Funai president, Artur Nobre Mendes, strongly condemns the murders and calls for justice.

Meanwhile, minister of Justice, Marcio Thomaz Bastos, has ordered the Federal Police to investigate the two cases. (AB)
