INPC presented 3.39% variation in November

Rio, December 6, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The National Consumer Price Index (INPC) presented a variation of 3.39% in the month of November. This result is 1.82% greater than in October (1.57%) and 2.10% greater than in November, 2001.

As the IBGE reported today, the cumulative index amounts to 11.72% so far this year. Last year, during the same period, the index stood at 8.64%. Over the past twelve months, the cumulative index attained 12.55%, greater than the result for the immediately preceding twelve months (10.26%).

Food prices rose 6.48%, contributing 1.97% to November's index. Non-food prices rose 2.04%, contributing 1.42% to the total. The highest regional index was recorded in Goiânia (4.37%), and the lowest, in Belo Horizonte (2.86%) (DAS)
