Brasília, December 6, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Beginning next week, the state of Mato Grosso do Sul (MS) can resume beef exports to Chile. They have been suspended since November 7, because a focus of hoof-and-mouth disease emerged in Paraguay. The re-opening of this market was negotiated this week by the Ministry of Agriculture, following two days of meetings between experts from the Division of Plant and Livestock Protection and Chilean authorities, to deal with sanitary problems. The Chilean government also committed itself to re-open its markets next year to Brazilian poultry imports. (DAS)
