Mercadante: Brazil and Argentina want broader regional integration

Buenos Aires, December 3, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Deputy and senator-elect Aloizio Mercadante (PT/SP), says that Brazil and Argentina are willing to work for broader regional integration which would include macroeconomic coordination. Mercadante, who participated in a technical meeting with officials in the Duhalde administration, declared that such coordination would be essential to ensure monetary and inflation control, that is necessary for regional growth within the Mercosur area.
