Buenos Aires, December 3, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, was given the keys to the city of Buenos Aires by its mayor, Anibal Ibarra, and declared an illustrious visitor. Because of the presence of the famous Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, who have never stopped looking for their children who disappeared during the Argentine military dictatorship, Lula was visibly moved during the ceremony. In an off the cuff speech, Lula declared, "the people of Argentina must never give up in their quest to change the history of Argentina." (AB)
