Brasília, 12 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - NGOs participating in the National Meeting on Innovative Social Experiences will be competing for World Bank Citizenship prizes of US$5,000 to US$20,000. A total of 20 projects will be selected and overseen for 8 months. The best will participate in a worldwide competition in Washington in 2003, with a top prize of US$285,000.

"The prizes provide a stimulus for organizations to execute their projects and will ensure that successful ones become known for their efficiency in fighting misery," said yesterday the World Bank director in Brazil, Vinod Thomas. (AB)
