Brasília - In a message, yesterday (16), to compliment the president-elect of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, the minister of Foreign Relations, Celso Amorim, said that the victory of the socialist candidate represents a "reinforcement" of political stability and democracy in South America. "I am certain that relations between Brazil and Chile will continue to develop in a positive manner, thanks to the fluidity of the bilateral political dialogue and the attachment of our societies, both of them open and pluralistic, to democratic values and principles," Amorim remarked.

The Brazilian minister went on to say he is convinced that Brazil and Chile will continue to make progress in defining constructive solutions to the large variety of issues on the bilateral, regional, and global agendas.
