São Paulo, 7/4/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - At the beginning of the new government, the three key words were; credibility, credibility, credibility. Now, after six months, the key words are: growth, growth, growth.

That was how minister of Finance, Antonio Palocci, explained the perspectives for the Brazilian economy last night. "We are on the verge of renewed sustainable growth," he declared.

Palocci recalled that when the new government took office there was talk of inflation reaching 40% by the end of the year. Now that we inflation is under control, "it is possbile to say that we have turned a page," he concluded. (AB)
