Brasília, 1 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Justice, Paulo de Tarso, says information networking is essential in fighting crimes such as drug traffic, speaking at the 2nd meeting of police authorities who deal with the problem.

One of the objectives of the event is to get states integrated into the National Statistical Data System on Drugs (Sindre), which is operated by the Federal Police.

"We need police who are well-informed with statistical data so they can effectively deal with illegal drugs," said the minister. (AB)
