IBGE reports rise in worker income

Brasília – In August there was an increase of 3.7% in average worker take-home pay, compared to August 2002, reports the government statistical bureau (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística) (IBGE). The IBGE just recently modified its metrics for this survey which takes place in the cities of: Recife, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Porto Alegre.

The survey found that August 2005 worker income rose to an average US$427.74 (R$973,20).
