Brasília, 3/16/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Interamerican Development Bank reports that over the next four years it intends to make up to US$6 billion available to Brazil. The announcement was made by the IDB president, Enrique Iglesias, following a meeting with minister of Planning, Guido Mantega.
Iglesias said it would be possible to make loans to both the public and private sectors as part of the Brazilian government's partnership plan (PPP). He also added that he was in favor of the idea by developing nations of having the IMF be more flexible with its fiscal rules. (AB)
