Brasília, 12/24/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Vice president José Alencar, who has become well known as a critic of Brazil's high interest rates, says that next year the country could have real interest rates at 3%, "Which would still be one of the highest rates in the world." According to Alencar, because of the many years that interest rates have been very high in Brazil, the country would have a cultural problem if they came down. (AB)
