Brasília, October 17, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The federal government is compiling a list of family farmers who lost their crops as a result of the drought. The measure will only cover rural producers in states and municipalities that did not subscribe to the Crop Assurance program in municipalities in a state of emergency.

Farmers who are registered may be included as beneficiaries of the Food Card. This program, one of the Zero Hunger program's emergency actions, distributes R$ 50.00 each month to families. (DAS)
