Brasília, June 9, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Last week, in Brasília, the president of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Association (Abracex), Ambassador Benito Gama, and the president of the Brazil-Spain Chamber of Commerce (CCBE), Carlos Moreira Garcia, signed a cooperation agreement to fortify the presence of Northeastern companies in Europe.
The object of the agreement is the implantation of the Northeast-Brazil Program for the Generation of Opportunities and Business (Pró-Nordex), which will serve as a bridge in relations between the states of the Northeast and the countries of Europe, for the purpose of publicizing business opportunties that exist in the region, attract investments, and stimulate tourism.
According to the president of the CCBE, "one of the chief activities of the Pró-Nordex is the identification of Northeastern enterprises that have the capacity to do business or expand their business in foreign trade, principally with Spain and Portugal." (DAS)
