Brasília, 2/26/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Technicians from the International Monetary Fund met yesterday with government economists as part of the scheduled second reevaluation of the US$30 billion IMF-Brazil agreement reached in September 2002. The head of the IMF mission which is now in Brazil, Jorge Marquez-Ruarte, called the talks good and announced that they will be extended another day in order to include discussions on tax reform. At the request of minister of Finance, Antonio Palocci, Marquez-Ruarte said the report on the reevaluation will be released by the middle of next month (March). (AB)
