Brasília, November 22, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Néli Gonçalves de Melo, consultant at the Ministery of Education, told the teleconference on Education and Human Rights today that the school is a furtherer, a facilitator, where topics of every sort are discussed, cutting across various subject areas. "In order for the conquest to belong to everyone, we need to become familiar with, live, and respect the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a guide for the school and for the teacher, who should teach that every citizen has the right to have rights. Besides which, the big secret is to draw the family to the school, to discuss with it how the student can contribute to the exercise of his (her) rights," she emphasized. (DAS)
