Brasília, November 25, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - A report on youth, human rights and schools, which surveyed 11 public schools in São Paulo, has been released by the University of São Paulo Violence Studies Center (NEV/USP) and the NGO, I Am Peaceful Institute. The survey was conducted by youths, known as observers, with assistance from the state Secretariat of Human Rights. The youths identify, analyze and seek to resolve problems involving violence and conflict in the schools. It is part of the Human Rights Observatory project which has been underway for two years with support from the UN High Commission for Human Rights. (AB)
