Recife, November 25, 2002 (Agencia Brasil ABr) - President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva declared that he never thought so many people would volunteer to participate in making the changes he intends to make. He announced a solidarity effort by the nation to show that it is possible to improve people's lives.

Lula said his priority was to boost development in the Northeast region of Brazil. (AB)
