Brasilia, November 25, 2002 (Agencia Brasil ABr) - President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, speaking in Recife, Pernambuco on Friday, declared that his cabinet (equipe ministerial) will consist of people who are ethical, competent and, above all, sensitive to the fact that the country should be governed from the heart and not based on statistics.

Lula said his election victory symbolized the idea that there are no insurmountable barriers. He said he was aware of the great responsibility he had and that he knows he cannot make mistakes. He said he was willing to make sacrifices in order not to deceive those who, like him, dream of a Brazil characterized by solidarity. He said he would work tirelessly during his four year term of office to turn the page on misery in Brazil. (AB)
