Brasília, November 25, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Ministry of Foreign Relations has released a note expressing Brazilian support for negotiations in Venezuela, specifically the beginning of talks with the objective of a peaceful dialogue sponsored by the Organization of American States and the UN Development Program. The effort is being supervised by the OAS secretary-general, Cesar Gaviria.

The note reiterates support for democracy and flexible positions by those negotiating in that country, saying that Brazil believes the constitutional government of Hugo Chavez and the rest of the political and social players will reach a solution that results in political stability. (AB)
