Aracruz Environmental Report is classified as one of the 50 best in the world

Rio, November 22, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Social and Environmental Report of Aracruz Cellulose, the world's largest producer of whitened eucalyptus cellulose, was classified by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) as one of the 50 best in the world. 100 reports were chosen from a sample of publications gathered all over the world, as examples of the best techniques in reports on sustainability, and, among these, the 50 best were picked, according to criteria such as originality, best techniques, and representativeness of the sector.

The Aracruz report came in 45th place, tied with Sony's, and it was the only one by a Brazilian company among the publications picked. Aracruz was also the only company in the world in the forest sector included in the list of the 50 best reports, the company's advisory office revealed.
