Brasília, 23 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The process of condensing and consolidating the Social Security code, which presently consists of 35 laws, is now in the hands of the presidential Staff (Casa Civil), where its final form will consist of some 320 articles, including recent ones (such as maternity benefits for adoptive mothers). When it is ready, it will go to Congress for approval.
The objective is to cut red tape and, with one law, make it easier for people to find procedural rules. The consolidation of the Social Security code is part of the Federal Government Dis-Bureaucratization Program. (AB)
