Brasília, 24 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - President Fernando Henrique Cardoso declared yesterday, after ratifying the Kyoto Protocol, that the protocol is a good example of a successful government-society partnership. Cardoso also announced that he will work to get all countries to ratify the protocol and move ahead with the implementation of clean development mechanisms.

Cardoso said he intends to insist on the subject at the South American Summit - on July 26 and 27 in Ecuador - and at the Second World Summit on Sustainable Development (Rio+10) in August in South Africa. (AB)
