Cardoso talks with Canadian prime minister about peace in Middle East

Brasília, 8 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - On Saturday, president Fernando Henrique Cardoso received a phone call from the prime minister of Canada, Jean Chrétien. They talked about how Brazil and Canada can assist the search for a longlasting peace in the Middle East.

Cardoso told Chrétien that he had talked with various leaders and sent messages to president Bush and prime minister Blair, expressing a willingness to assist in finding solutions that lead to peace in the region. Cardoso said that Brazil and Canada could work together to help resolve the conflict. (AB)
