Government and private sector discuss FTAA negotiations

Brasília, 12 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The 32nd meeting on the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas negotiations (Senalca) took place yesterday bringing together representatives from the government and the private sector, led by Clodoaldo Hugueney, subsecretary general for Integration, Economic and Foreign Trade Affairs at the Foreign Ministry.

According to Itamaraty, the Senalca is an interaction channel which can be used by the business and labor communities for discussion of and drawing up negotiating positions for the Brazilian government at the FTAA bargaining table.

This Senalca meeting is preparatory for a meeting of vice ministers of Trade, scheduled for Venezuela from April 22 to 26. (AB)
