Brasília - The Krahô-Kanela Indian group, which lives in the state of Tocantins, will meet with the Indian Foundation vice president, Roberto Lustosa, today to discuss the demarcation of their tribal lands.
At the moment some 90 Krahô-Kanela Indians have gathered in the small town of Gurupi in a sort of protest against the delay in defining the limits of their lands. However, Funai says that there is a problem. An anthropological study found that the area the Indians occupied until 1977, covering some 29,300 hectares, could not be identified as the group's traditional location.
