Brasília - Federal deputy Maria José Maninha (PT-DF) has called for action by the Ministry of Foreign Relations with regard to the case of a Brazilian, Jean Charles de Menezes, who was shot by London police who thought he was a terrorist.
Maninha wants a formal protest to be made to the British government. She also demands that a thorough investigation into the incident take place. "The fact that British authorities have recognized that an absurd error ended the life of de Menezes is not enough. He was an innocent victim of a violent act and had no way to defend himself. We want more than an apology," she declared.
