Brasília, 4/26/2004 (Agência Brasil) - The Ministry of Justice reports that it will be releasing a total of US$61.85 million (R$180 million) for public security and state prisons. The money is from the national fund for public security and penitentiaries which is run by the ministry.

Adding that amount to the US$20.61 million (R$60 million) released last week for the Federal Police, the total funding for public security by the federal government in April reached US$82.46 million (R$240 million).
