Brasília, April 20, 2004 (Agência Brasil) - The Minister of Justice, Márcio Thomaz Bastos, assured that by the end of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's term of office, all the Indian lands that have been demarcated in Brazil will receive official sanction. Bastos met yesterday (19), Indian Day, with around 100 Indians who represent 20 ethnic groups that are demanding the federal government to regularize the property status of all existing indigenous areas in Brazil. "We found a series of problems that are being resolved since the first day the government took office," said the Minister, adding that he views this grievance "gladly," because it is a sign of cooperation and partnership with the native peoples.
