Rio, 3/18/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Petrobras, Brazil's state-run petroleum corporation, is reevaluating its investment plans. According to Renato Duque, director of Services, between 2003 and 2007 total investments could reach more than the US$34.3 billion already in the company's plans.
Petrobras strategic plans for 2003/2007 estimate that the company will create 140,000 direct jobs with domestic investments of US$19 billion.
Petrobras is internationally recognized as a leader in ultra-deep drilling (more than 2,000 meters) and has become an important player in world petroleum production with its presence in the Gulf of Mexico and the western coast of Africa. (AB)
