IPC rose 0.19% in February

Brasília - Inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index (IPC), which is conducted by the Economic Research Institute Foundation at the University of São Paulo (Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas) (Fipe), was up 0.19% in the month of February, compared to 0.65% in January.

For the city of São Paulo, the IPC showed deflation of 0.08%, the lowest since July 2003.

The IPC/Fipe measures the cost of living for families with monthly incomes of up to 20 minimum wages (R$4,800). (AB)
