Brasília, 2/17/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Justice, Márcio Thomaz Bastos, has given president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva a report on the investigation of the Diniz case - Waldomiro Diniz was the deputy head of Congressional Liaison who was fired on Friday after a video tape of him asking a numbers game kingpin for payoffs was made public.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the president has demanded a full investigation. Bastos declared that, "This administration will not tolerate cases of corruption." (AB)
