Brasília, January 23, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister Tarso Genro, of the Secretariat of Economic and Social Development, accepted President Lula's invitation to assume the Ministry of Education, replacing Cristovam Buarque, who was dismissed this morning. According to Minister Genro's Press Office, he received a call from President Lula late this morning offering him the post, and he was in agreement with the shift. (DAS)
